About Us

country valley dairy

Welcome to the Country Valley website. This is where you can out find lots of information about our wonderful business. But first a bit about us, who we are and what we do.

Our names are John and Sally Fairley and we live in a beautiful valley in Picton, New South Wales with our two children, Thomas and Ellen. Picton is just one hour southwest of Sydney but the town itself is nestled in a lovey rural environment. The Fairley family has been living in this valley for over 150 years, farming everything from peas to cattle. The dairy itself was opened in 1958 and has been working continuously ever since, firstly, by my father, uncle and grandfather and then by me and my brother. In 2001 I took over the dairy and my brother operates a cattle raising business on the remaining land.

In July 2000 the Federal Government deregulated the Dairy Industry. This has resulted in widespread changes across the industry. One of these has been the opportunity to bottle and sell our milk instead of sending it to another processor such as Dairy Farmers and this is exactly what we have decided to do.

We have completed our processing plant which we call “The Milk House” based right next to our dairy and began bottling milk in March 2004.

Take some time to look around our website. We have lots of information about our products and where you can get them from as well as information about The Milk House and about the Fairley Family.
